“It’s our goal as program to produce well-rounded student-athletes,” said Pirate head coach Rick Kobe. “This is a very gratifying and distinguished achievement for our ladies. I’m so proud of the dedication they have of not just succeeding in the classroom, but excelling.”

Only the University of South Carolina women’s team, coached by ECU letterman McGee Moody, compiled a better GPA than the Pirates among the 165 teams recognized. The ECU women’s team has been on the list for 10 consecutive semesters.

The Pirates had 11 student-athletes make the Chancellor’s List with a 4.0 grade-point average during the fall semester, and an additional 24 student-athletes post a GPA of 3.0 or higher. In total, 35 student-athletes on the roster claimed a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The Team Scholar All-American award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams, who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented to teams achieving this standard in the fall semester and in the semester of the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
