At ‘Chinlock for Chuck’, every suplex, moonsault, and, of course, chinlock goes towards helping wrestler Chuck Coates, who has Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
Durham, NC – Wrestling stars Jeff and Matt Hardy, “Hurricane” Shane Helms, TNA stars Gunner and Christian York, ECW originals Steve Corino and CW Anderson, WCW star Lodi, among others, are coming together for a charity show to benefit their friend and long-time co-worker, Chuck Coates, who is recovering from Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
During a routine physical in 2006, a lump was discovered in his neck and shortly thereafter Coates was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. After surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, he was pronounced cancer-free as of Feb 2, 2007. In late 2011, Chuck started experiencing pains in his side and in early 2012, a mass was found near his pancreas. A biopsy was performed and it was determined that the Hodgkin’s Lymphoma had returned. Once again Chuck would undergo surgery and chemotherapy and this time he received a bone marrow transplant this past September. Chuck spent nearly the entire month of October in isolation to allow his immune system to recover.
As the bills from chemotherapy, a complete bone marrow transplant, and raising a son, stepson, stepdaughter, and three foster children mounted and his condition made it impossible to work his friends decided that they wanted to do something about it.
Wrestlers from WWE, TNA, ECW, and WCW will be coming together in Durham, North Carolina for “Chinlock for Chuck”, a show where every suplex, moonsault, and, of course, chinlock, will go towards helping Chuck get better.
Everyone working this event is donating his or her time and talents for Chuck and his cause.
