College of Charleston Cougarettes Descend on UDA Nationals

ORLANDO, Fla. – The College of Charleston Cougarettes are set to compete alongside the best dance teams in the country at the Universal Dance Association National Championship at the Walt Disney World Resort over the weekend of Jan. 19-20.

This marks the second time the Cougarettes are competing at the UDA National Championship, the most prestigious college team dance championship in the country. Last season, the Cougarettes placed eighth among the 18 teams represented at their inaugural showing.

The squad has been working diligently to perfect two separate dances which will be judged on routine difficulty, originality, musicality, formation, crowd reaction, coordination and unison.

The Cougarettes will be hosting a show night to unveil both of their routines to the CofC community on Thursday, Jan. 17 at the TD Arena. The show will begin at 6 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
