CHARLESTON, SC - The College of Charleston women’s track and field team continues their indoor season as they travel to Winston Salem Saturday for the Wake Forest Invitational.

College of Charleston Cougars Women's Track and Field

The meet, which features student-athletes from 14 schools, will be held at the JDL Fast Track Indoor Track Complex, site of the 2013 Southern Conference Indoor Championship.

Competition will begin at 10:00 a.m. and the meet will conclude by 4:00 p.m.

The Cougars opened their season last weekend with the Tiger Challenge on the campus of Clemson University. CofC head coach Amy Seago said with a lot of freshman on the team the first meet was a good learning experience.

Among the top performers for the Cougars was sophomore Dyshia Parks, who finished third in the triple jump with a leap of 11.47 meters, the fifth-best mark in school history.

“It was great for our kids to get collegiate racing experience,” Seago said. “We had some good performances and I believe they will be more comfortable this weekend and in the coming weeks.”
