Progressive Activists Gather in North Carolina for 7th Annual HKonJ March and Rally

WHAT:
Tens of Thousands of progressive activists from across the state and the nation will march and rally together for the 7th Annual Historic Thousands on Jones Street People’s Assembly (HKonJ). The event will be held this Saturday, February 9th at 10:30am and begins at Shaw University.

This year’s march will focus on the issues of poverty, education equality, affordable health care, criminal justice reform, and voting rights. The event will also include remarks from SEIU1199 President George Gresham, Roslyn M. Brock, Chairman of the NAACP National Board of Directors, and leaders from labor, faith, civil rights and student groups who will lay out a progressive vision for North Carolina. The march is comprised of 145 partner organizations.
