The Cougars shot a team score of 299 (+11) and are within six shots of the top-eight as many teams are separated by only a few shots.

“We had a fairly solid start to the tournament today,” CofC head coach Jamie Futrell said. “We have an excellent opportunity to move up over the next two days. We need to make a few more putts and we will have a good finish.”

Neumann totaled four birdies on the day including a chip-in on her last hole of the day and is tied for 13th individually.

Senior Vanessa Koechli carded a 2-over 74 with one birdie for her round and is tied for 35th place.

Freshman Stacey Tomlinson (+4) and Mary Chandler Bryan (+6) and junior Kathryn Miranda (+6) rounded out the lineup for the Cougars.

The Cougars will tee off tomorrow in the second round of the tournament starting at 9:24 a.m. and will be paired with Louisville and Missouri.
