Little Ripples Create Big Waves of Change

Kure Beach, NC Feb. 27, 2013 – The N.C. Aquarium at Fort Fisher presents Little Ripples, Big Waves, Friday, April 5 and Saturday, April 6. This  family-friendly event focuses on how a changing climate affects our planet.

Global changes impact our homes, communities, local wildlife and habitats. Visitors are invited to learn more about these changes and what they can do today to make a difference for tomorrow. Visitors can explore the topic through fun games and crafts, engaging discussions with experts, animal feeding presentations and during the interactive dive shows at 10:30 and 2:30. Special tours and outdoor birding programs will also be offered.

Breakfast with the Birds

Little Ripples, Big Waves kicks-off with a special early morning program for bird lovers of all ages, beginning at 6:30 a.m. Breakfast with the Birds features a two-hour tour of Aquarium grounds lead by Dr. Jim Parnell. Dr. Parnell taught ornithology at UNCW before retiring to spend more time on bird photography. He is co-author of Birds of the Carolinas.
