The Bobcats started the game out strong outscoring the Pistons, 24-23, 50-47, and, 76-69, in the first three quarters, despite many lead changes. Going into the fourth quarter, the Bobcats kept their lead until there was 7:23 left, when Charlie Villanueva tied the game, 78-78, on a jumpshot. From that point, the score went back and forth nine times as Villanueva continued to sink his shots. Kemba Walker gave the Cats the lead, 91-90, with 31:6 left in the game with two free throws, only to be answered by Villanueva’s layup, making the score 91-92. The Bobcats had the ball with 15 seconds left in the game, but Walker and Josh McRoberts could not get the game winner to fall.

The Bobcats finished the game shooting 42.7 percent from the floor and 23.5 percent from 3-point territory. The Pistons finished shooting 45.6 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from long distance… The Pistons beat the Cats in points in the paint (40-32) and in second-chance points (12-8)… Charlotte’s defense forced 15 Detroit turnovers, while grabbing 10 steals and blocking nine shots.

Kemba Walker was the points leader for the Bobcats, scoring 25 points on 10-for-20 shooting. He also dished out three assists, grabbed two rebounds and had four steals.

Jannero Pargo was hot off the bench for the Cats with 16 points, making him the second-leading scorer for the team. He scored 11 points in the third quarter as the result of strong offensive plays. Pargo finished 7-for-14 shooting and dished out three assists, grabbed a rebound, blocked a shot and had a steal.

“We just needed one more stop.  It was only one possession when they got the rebound back.  It was a great defensive possession for us, but the ball came off funny and they were able to get the offensive rebound.  It was a hard fought game.  We gave ourselves a chance to win.”
- Bobcats guard Jannero Pargo on the final minute of the game

“There’s no questioning, the team is getting better.  We’re playing sturdy at a time of year where most teams let go of the rope.  We’re in a good place.  We wanted to win the game but I’m really proud of where we’re at.  We’re playing as a unit and we look like a team.”
- Bobcats Head Coach Mike Dunlap on the team’s improvement

Five Bobcats scored in double figures led by Kemba Walker (25) and followed by Jannero Pargo (16), Gerald Henderson (15), Bismack Biyombo (12) and Michael Kidd-G ilchrist (11)… Ramon Sessions remains sidelined due to MCL injury.
