“Even though I can’t play golf very well, I look forward to joining all my NHRA friends to play and raise money and awareness for our great charities,” said Doug Herbert, founder of B.R.A.K.E.S.

“And no one would want to miss our pancake breakfast on Saturday morning at the track. Last year we were joined by almost every Pro driver, and the comedy show that John Force and Antron Brown put on was priceless!”

The Hot Rods and Hot Cakes breakfast, held on Saturday of the Dollar General NHRA Four-Wide Nationals in the zMAX Dragway pavilion from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., will give fans the opportunity to eat breakfast alongside NHRA’s most notable team owners and drivers.

“Your favorite driver may even be flipping your pancakes or refilling your coffee,” said Lisa Starnes, director of the Charlotte Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities. “It’s a great opportunity to support a good cause and have some fun at the same time.”

Tickets for the Hot Rods and Hot Cakes breakfast may be purchased in advance for $10 or the day of the event for $15. Proceeds will help SCC continue to support local children in need as well as help B.R.A.K.E.S. to teach teens the importance of safe driving. To purchase tickets, please call Martha Walker, associate director of B.R.A.K.E.S., at 704-720-3806 or email .
