No Fooling! Knights Turn Back the Clock Again with $5 Opening Day Offer

$5 Lower Level Reserved Seats Available Beginning at 12:01 AM This Saturday

Fort Mill, SC March 28, 2013 – Back by popular demand, the Charlotte Knights will once again offer $5 tickets to Opening Day (April 11). This time, however, the team will extend $5 lower level reserved seats to all fans beginning on Saturday, March 30 at 12:01 a.m online at charlotteknights.com. The exciting online ticket offer will continue until April Fools Day, Monday, April 1 at 11:59 p.m. — no fooling!

Beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, the Knights will open the gates to Knights Stadium for the team’s Annual Knights Fest. From 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. that day, fans can purchase the $5 lower level reserve tickets in-person at Knights Stadium, or by phone at either (704) 357-8071 (North Carolina), or (803) 548-8050 (South Carolina). The Knights Stadium Box Office and ticket line will not be open on Easter Sunday, March 31.

 

“With the 2013 season just days away, we wanted to add one more exciting element to the final opener in Knights Stadium history,” said Knights General Manager of Baseball Operations Scott Brown. “Our $5 ticket deal earlier in the month proved to be very popular with our fans and we wanted to bring it back one more time. Let’s make the final opener at Knights Stadium the best one yet!”

 

Along with the exciting ticket deal, fans can enjoy Knights Stadium for the first time this Saturday for Knights Fest. Fans can take advantage of free peanuts and soda and also chow down on delicious hamburgers and hot dogs for only $2.

 

During Knights Fest, fans will have exclusive access to Knights Stadium and will be able to get an up-close look at the 24-year-old historic ballpark. Fans interested in singing the National Anthem this season at Knights Stadium can audition at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday. Beginning at 11:30 a.m., fans can get a behind-the-scenes tour of the clubhouses, Budweiser Brewhouse, Skybox suites, press box, and more. A second tour will be offered at 1:00 p.m.

 

At noon, local media members from TV, print, and radio, will take part in a celebrity “Rock N Jock” style softball game on the field at Knights Stadium. Fans are welcome to sit in the seating bowl and watch as the local media members play a three-inning game. Seats are on a first-come-first-serve basis. Cheering is acceptable!

 

Throughout the game, the Knights Stadium entertainment department will give fans a preview of some of the new on-field contests they can expect throughout the final season at Knights Stadium. Kids will also be able to enjoy inflatable games and the Knights Carousel.

The Charlotte Knights kick-off their 24th and final season at Knights Stadium in Fort Mill on Thursday, April 11 at 7:15 p.m. against the Gwinnett Braves. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. on Opening Day and the game features Thirsty Thursday ™ presented by Hickory Tavern with $2 beers and $1 sodas.
