Darlington Raceway Set To Host Annual ‘A Taste of Darlington’ Tomorrow

Popular event supports the Darlington Downtown Revitalization Association (DDRA)


DARLINGTON, SC April 24, 2013 – A Taste of Darlington will return to Darlington Raceway on Thursday evening, April 25 from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series garage area.


The annual culinary event benefits the Darlington Downtown Revitalization Association (DDRA) and features some of the best cooks in the Darlington area. The event is usually attended by 500-700 local community members that enjoy good food and beverage, at the annual festivities.

Darlington Raceway - Too Tough to Tame

“This event offers some of Darlington County’s best cooks for a celebration of delicious food choices and desserts, said DDRA Manager David Vaughan. “Again this year, the event will be held in the Sprint Cup Garage area, which provides an excellent opportunity for attendees to walk around and enjoy a time of fellowship and a variety of dining choices.”


For nearly 30 years, A Taste of Darlington has been a marquee event on the social calendar in the community. This year’s event will feature 15 grillers preparing main courses and over 15 stations featuring hors d’oeuvres and desserts.


A Taste of Darlington is a great opportunity for the community to participate in an exciting and fun event with Darlington Raceway serving as the historic backdrop.


“A Taste of Darlington is a true community event that brings everyone in the Darlington area together,” said Darlington Raceway President Chris Browning. “The event at Darlington Raceway has been a tremendous fundraiser for the downtown revitalization efforts every year and we’re proud to be part of it.”


Walk-up tickets are available the day of the event for $40 each. The event is only open for guests 21 years of age or older.
