Columbus, OH May 6, 2013 – Monday’s game between the Charlotte Knights and Columbus Clippers from Huntington Park in Columbus, OH, has been postponed due to inclement weather. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Tuesday with first pitch of game one scheduled for 5:05 p.m. Tuesday’s doubleheader will feature two seven-inning games.
The Knights were set to meet the Clippers in Columbus on Monday for the first time this season. Charlotte is in the midst of a three-game win-streak after taking three of four games from Toledo. Charlotte is half-way through their eight-game road trip in Ohio.
Both teams featured a player on a Major League rehab assignment. The Knights currently have Chicago outfielder Dayan Viciedo, while the Clippers have Cleveland outfielder Michael Bourn. Both are expected to continue their rehabs on Tuesday.
The two teams will now play four games over the next three days. Tuesday’s doubleheader will be Charlotte’s fourth of the season and third in a week. The Knights played back-to-back doubleheaders last week at Knights Stadium (April 29-30).
Charlotte returns home to Knights Stadium on Friday, May 10 to open an eight-game homestand.
