Edenton, NC July 27, 2013 – The Wilmington Sharks (12-8, 26-21) lost a 12-0 on the road to the Edenton Steamers (14-4, 34-10) on Saturday night.
The Steamers got going in the bottom of the first inning on an Adam Kirsch RBI double to give them a 1-0 lead. The Steamers continued the hot hitting in the bottom of the second inning as they scored five runs on seven hits as the inning was highlighted by a three run home run off the bat of Trent Miller to make it 7-0 Steamers.
Edenton added another run in the bottom half of the fourth to make it 8-0. Nick Thompson hit the second three run home run of the night for Steamers in the bottom of the fifth inning to put the game out reach and make it 10-0. Dominic Fratantuono added two runs to the board for the Steamers on a two run home run to left field in sixth inning to make it 12-0.
Patrick Peterson picked up the win as he improves his record to 4-0 on the year for the Steamers. Tommy Houmard was the bright spot for the Sharks as he picked up his second three hit game of the year going 3-4 with three singles.
The Wilmington Sharks will continue their road trip on Monday night as they take on the Fayetteville SwampDogs with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch.
