Jeffery Taylor

THE RESULT
The final preseason tune up at Time Warner Cable Arena on Oct. 24 saw the host Bobcats down visiting Cleveland by a score of 105-92… With Michael Kidd-Gilchrist going down with a hamstring strain in the first half, it gave Jeffery Taylor increased minutes, which he used wisely, leading all scorers with 20 points. Five other Cats scored in double figures.

TURNING POINTS
After heading to the locker room at halftime clinging to a two-point lead, the Cats came out on a mission to start the third stanza. The home team went on a 14-6 run to begin play and never looked back. As the point differential reached 10 points, the Cats began to settle in. Mixed with the run to start the second half the Cats began shooting better from the charity stripe and finished with the 13-point victory.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
With six players not seeing action tonight (Ben Gordon, Al Jefferson, and Brendan Haywood out with injuries, and Jeff Adrien, Jannero Pargo and James Southerland all listed as DNP-CD) the rest of the Cats saw increased playing time. With the added minutes the Cats had six players in double figures led by Jeffery Taylor with 20 points and two rebounds… Josh McRoberts dropped in 10 points to go with four boards… Gerald Henderson had 19 points and five assists… Kemba Walker tallied 13 points, five assists and four rebounds… Cody Zellar came off the bench and scored 11 points and led the Cats with eight rebounds… Ramon Sessions added 11 points.

BOBCATS PLAYER OF THE GAME
Hands down, the Cats player of the game was Jeffery Taylor. Taylor saw his minutes increase to 33 and used every one of them, scoring 20 points and shooting 50 percent (3-for-6) from beyond the arc while shooting 7-for-11 (63.6 percent) overall. He also netted two boards and three assists.

CAVALIERS PLAYER OF THE GAME
Kyrie Irving scored 20 points in the loss for the Cavs. He had 10 of his 20 in the third quarter and didn’t play in the fourth. He also finished with five boards and three assists for the Cavaliers.

GAME NOTES
With some minor injuries slowing down the home team, the rest of the team has stepped up. Bismack Biyombo had another solid night and continued his aggressiveness on the boards, grabbing seven and only trailing Zellar, who grabbed eight… As a team the Cats shot 45.1 percent (37-for-82) from the field and 35.0 percent (7-for-20) from behind the arc. NEXT UP
Charlotte will head to the newly renovated Madison Square Garden, on Oct. 25 at 7:30pm to face off with the Knicks for their final preseason game. Listen live on bobcats.com and WFNZ.
