LUBBOCK, TX June 8, 2014 – For the fourth time in five NCAA games this postseason, College of Charleston baseball is in a rain delay with weather moving through Lubbock, Texas.
The game was originally scheduled to start at 3 p.m. ET, but fans were asked to evacuate the ball park as a severe weather cell moved through, dumping rain and hail on the field.
Texas Tech officials have now set a projected starting time of 3:45 p.m. ET.
All three of College of Charleston’s games in the Gainesville Regional were delayed or moved because of weather issues. CofC went 3-0 in those games.
The Cougars must win today’s game to force a winner-take-all game three on Monday at 1 p.m. ET. The winner of the Super Regional series with Texas Tech will advance to the College World Series.
The game will be broadcast on both ESPN2 and ESPNU.
