N.C. 4th of July Festival Issues Invitation to WW II Veterans

SOUTHPORT, NC June 8, 2014 –    The 70th Anniversary of D –Day has the world focusing on honoring those who served in World War II and the N.C. 4th of July Festival is no exception.   This year’s parade on Friday, July 4th will be marshaled by BMCS A. Mark Kannan, United States Coast Guard Station Oak Island with World War II veterans as Honorary Marshals on July 4th.   The Festival is issuing an invitation to any World War II veteran to ride on the Honorary Marshal float in this year’s parade.   If you are a WWII veteran and are interested in more details or would like to sign up to ride, please contact the Festival before June 27th at (910) 457-5578.

NC 4th of July Festival Southport logoThe N.C. 4th of July Festival Parade will be hosted by WECT-TV6 and sponsored by Dosher Memorial Hospital and New Bridge Bank.    Portions of the parade will be aired on WECT-TV 6 on July 4th at 8pm and in its entirety on the WECT TV6 website.
