Charleston RiverDogs Accepting Nominations for HOPE Week 2014

Charleston looks for honorees, activities for its HOPE Week, July 15 to 19

CHARLESTON, SC June 9, 2014 – Once again, the Charleston RiverDogs are partnering with their parent club, the 27-time World Series Champion New York Yankees, for the 6th Annual HOPE Week Initiative. The RiverDogs will host their HOPE Week from Tuesday, July 15 through Saturday, July 19 and are currently accepting nominations for different causes, organizations and people to be recognized.

HOPE Week

HOPE Week, which stands for “Helping Others Persevere and Excel,” was created by the Yankees in 2009 and has been honored through the President’s Volunteer Service Award during each of the last four years. For Charleston’s HOPE Week 2014, the RiverDogs are seeking nominations for individuals, charities and families that can share their inspirational stories and benefit from this once-in-a-lifetime experience with the RiverDogs.

“We are thrilled for another opportunity to join the New York Yankees and participate in HOPE Week,” said RiverDogs Director of Community Relations Lauren Allio. “This initiative is a wonderful source of hope and inspiration, not just for the individuals and groups that are supported, but also for our organization as a whole.”

To submit consideration to the RiverDogs for HOPE Week 2014, advocates are asked to provide their contact information along with information about their nomination. This should include the nominee’s name (person, family, organization, etc.), website, description and reasons why the nominee is deserving of recognition.

Please send HOPE Week 2014 nominations to Lauren Allio via email at lallio@riverdogs.com. Submissions must be made by noon on Wednesday, June 25.

The RiverDogs start their HOPE Week on Tuesday, July 15 and continue through Saturday, July 19. This coincides with a seven-game RiverDogs homestand that includes visits from the Lexington Legends and the Augusta GreenJackets.
