Charlotte Hornets To Play Preseason Home Game In Greenville, South Carolina For First Time

HORNETS TO PLAY PRESEASON HOME GAME IN GREENVILLE, SC, FOR FIRST TIME

CHARLOTTE, NC June 11, 2014 – Hornets Sports & Entertainment President & COO Fred Whitfield today announced the Hornets will play a regional home contest in Greenville, SC, for the first time as part of the team’s 2014 preseason schedule.  Presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, the Hornets will take on the Washington Wizards on Friday, October 10, at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.  The game will tip off at 7:00 p.m.

“As we transition to the Charlotte Hornets, we continue to look for opportunities to bring NBA basketball to cities across the Carolinas,” said Whitfield. “We are pleased to be playing in Greenville for the first time and are excited to showcase our games to new locations throughout the region.”

Tickets for the contest go on sale at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 13, and can be purchased at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena and Time Warner Cable Arena box offices, or online via Ticketmaster.  Prices start at $10 plus applicable fees.

Hornets Sports & Entertainment owns the Charlotte Hornets and operates Charlotte’s Time Warner Cable Arena.
