Home Team BBQ’s Aaron Siegel to serve as Celebrity Smokin’ Chef for the Day

CHARLESTON, SC July 18, 2014 – The Celebrity Smokin’ Chef promotion that the Charleston RiverDogs have held every Sunday home game this season continues this weekend. The club has announced that a Smoked Pork Belly Pastrami Sandwich will be the special smoked dish available for Sunday, July 20. The Celebrity Chef preparing the smoked delicacy this weekend will be Aaron Siegel from Home Team BBQ. Chef Siegel will be at the game and stationed by the RiverDogs’ new smoker throughout the afternoon to promote the specific dish, ensure it is being served appropriately, and visit with fans.

Smoker at The Joe

The Smoked Pork Belly Pastrami Sandwich will be served on a plate a la carte for $7.50 or with a bag of chips for $9. In addition, the RiverDogs will donate a portion of the proceeds from the smoked item to the Lowcountry Food Bank. Chef Siegel will be serving the tasty treat to fans for the RiverDogs game against the Kannapolis Intimidators which is scheduled to begin Sunday at 5:05 pm at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park.

“This promotion has been well received during our first seven Sunday home games this season, and we’re happy to welcome Chef Siegel from Home Team BBQ to the park this weekend,” said RiverDogs General Manager Dave Echols. “Chef Siegel’s creation of the Smoked Pork Belly Pastrami Sandwich sounds delicious, and to be able to help raise money for the Lowcountry Food Bank at the same time is fantastic.”

The RiverDogs are home through Monday afternoon. Tickets are on sale for the remainder RiverDogs season. For more information or to purchase tickets, please contact the Riley Park Box Office at 843/577-DOGS (3647) or online at www.riverdogs.com.
