Calling Artist for local Art on the Apron Event: Phlock to the Beach – a Buffett style Beach Blast

SOUTHPORT-OAK ISLAND AREA, NC July 25, 2014 – The Chamber of Commerce for the Southport-Oak Island area will host a long weekend of Jimmy Buffett-Style events August 22-24, 2014. Activities include pub tours throughout Southport and Oak Island, beach game tournaments and concerts.

Art on the Apron Event: Phlock to the Beach

An annual festival, it is expected to draw many Buffett fans from across North Carolina and neighboring states. The fun begins with a local Parrot Head Pub & Grub Crawl on Friday, August 22nd.

A new event for 2014, Art on the Apron allows artists to create one-of-a-kind art around the Phlock to the Beach Concert dance floor. Participating artists will receive two tickets to Saturday’s trop-rock beach concert featuring Latitude and Scearce & Ketner. Art on the Apron will be held Saturday, August 23rd from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cape Fear Regional Jetport.

We encourage artists to participate in Art of the Apron. Interested artists are requested to sign-up for this free event. Forms are available on the Chamber’s website under the Events tab or contact the Chamber 910-457-6994.

2014 Phlock to Beach schedule

The Southport-Oak Island area includes the towns of Bald Head Island, Boiling Spring Lakes, Bolivia, Caswell Beach, Oak Island, St. James, and Southport. These coastal communities offer beaches, golf, an active life-style and host of community programs. The Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce provides support and promotion of member businesses.
