Wil Myers-Themed Package Includes Two Weekend Games, Playoff Date and Bobblehead
DURHAM, NC July 30, 2014 – With the potential of a rehab appearance by 2013 American League Rookie of the Year Wil Myers on the horizon, the International League Champion Durham Bulls have unveiled a new ticket package possibly giving fans a chance to see the North Carolina native return to the DBAP while also providing an opportunity to secure playoff tickets before they go on sale to the general public.
The “Wil He, Won’t He Rehab?” Pack consists of two weekend games in August on the 16th and 31st, a first round playoff game on September 5th, and a Wil Myers bobblehead for only $25. Plus, if Myers rehabs at the DBAP this season, package purchasers may exchange either of the included regular season games for any of his appearances in Durham. The Rays slugger has been sidelined since fracturing his right wrist on May 30.
The new ticket package follows in the footsteps of two popular Myers-themed promotions the Bulls ran last season. After the blockbuster trade that brought the High Point, NC native to the Rays from Kansas City, the Bulls launched the acclaimed “Wil He, Won’t He?” pack that promised fans an additional ticket if the star prospect did not begin the season in Triple-A. After Myers was named to Durham’s Opening Day roster, the team christened the popular “WilVille” section of seats at the DBAP.
“We had an overwhelming response to the packages built around Wil while he was with us in 2013,” said General Manager Mike Birling. “This is a great way for fans to join the excitement of our run to repeat as League Champs and also hopefully see the return of one of the most exciting Bulls in recent memory.”
The reigning Governors’ Cup Champion Bulls return to Downtown Durham on Thursday, August 7to begin a four-day series with the Buffalo Bisons. The “Wil He, Won’t He Rehab?” Pack and tickets for all remaining regular season home games are on sale now at durhambulls.com, by phone at 919.956.BULL, or at the DBAP box office.
