The 23-year-old graduate of Wesleyan Christian Academy in High Point, NC has been sidelined with a right wrist fracture since May 30. Prior to his injury, the former Durham Bull was hitting .227 with five home runs and 25 RBIs in 57 games for the Rays this season.

Myers began the 2013 season – his first season in the Tampa Bay system – with the Bulls, hitting .286 with 14 homers and 57 RBIs. After his promotion to Tampa Bay on June 18, the former third-round draft pick went on to hit another 13 homers and drive in 53 to accompany a .293 batting average en route to earning the AL Rookie of the Year award, receiving 23-of-30 first-place votes. He becomes the fourth Major Leaguer to rehab with Durham this season, joining RHP Juan Carlos Oviedo, OF Brandon Guyer and RHP Jeremy Hellickson.

Drafted by the Kansas City Royals in 2009, he was traded to the Rays with RHP Jake Odorizzi, LHP Mike Montgomery and INF Patrick Leonard in exchange for RHP James Shields, RHP Wade Davis and INF Elliot Johnson in December of 2012.

The Bulls continue their series against the Buffalo Bisons Saturday night at the DBAP at 7:05 p.m. Tickets for the team’s fourteen remaining regular season home games are available at the DBAP box office, by phone at 919.956.BULL, and online at durhambulls.com.
