Katrina Guillou, Stephanie Bronson On Preseason All-CAA Team

WILMINGTON, NC August 13, 2014 – Junior striker Katrina Guillou and senior midfielder Stephanie Bronson of UNCW have been named to the Colonial Athletic Association’s 2014 Preseason Women’s Soccer Team and two teammates – junior defender Morgan Leyble and junior forward Maddie McCormick – have garnered Honorable Mention accolades.

Junior striker Katrina Guillou and senior midfielder Stephanie Bronson of UNCW have been named to the Colonial Athletic Association’s 2014 Preseason Women’s Soccer Team

The quartet was recognized late Wednesday in voting by the league’s coaches as the CAA’s 10 teams conducted final preparations for the regular season. Overall, a total of 15 players were selected to the team and six others picked up Honorable Mention notification.

Guillou, from Ft. Washington, Md., led the Seahawks in goals (10), assists (6) and points (26) last season to land a spot on the All-CAA First-Team. Bronson, a transfer from N.C. State, collected five goals and two assists and also nabbed First-Team All-CAA honors.

Leyble, a Jacksonville, N.C., native, started all 19 games in her second season with the Seahawks, and McCormick, from Newark, Dela., finished second in scoring with 16 points on six goals and four assists in her second year with the team.

The Seahawks play their final preseason exhibition Saturday when No. 18 Duke visits for a 6 p.m. friendly at the UNCW Soccer Stadium. Coach Paul Cairney’s club kicks off its 21st season on Friday, Aug. 22, with a 7 p.m. clash against N.C. State in Raleigh.
