PINE KNOLL SHORES, NC August 27, 2014 – The North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores is open normal operating hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., throughout the Labor Day weekend. Dive shows, live animal encounters, feeding presentations and other programs are offered throughout the day, free with admission.
Also free with admission: Dinosaur Adventure, featuring seven species of prehistoric creatures that move and call. This fun blast from the past has been extended through the first week of November.
Winging It – Birds in Flight is presented daily at 1 p.m. in Big Rock Theater. Tickets are $2 per person.
Behind the scenes tours and outdoor adventures such as stand-up paddle-boarding and a kayak/canoe excursion are offered at various times – fees and advance registration are required.
The fall schedule of free programs and additional activities begins on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
The North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores is five miles west of Atlantic Beach at 1 Roosevelt Blvd., Pine Knoll Shores, NC 28512. The Aquarium is open 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily. Admission is $10.95 for ages 13-61; $9.95 for ages 62 and up and military; $8.95 for ages 3-12; no charge for ages 2 and under and North Carolina Aquarium Society members.
