Operation North State Now Accepting Recipient Names For Its 2012 NCCARES Christmas Boxes

Winston-Salem, NC – Saturday, September 1st, Operation North State will begin to accept the names of 1500 North Carolina deployed troops to receive its 2012 NCCARES Christmas Boxes. Considered one of the state’s most popular Christmas gift box projects, this year’s gift box will feature a minimum of thirty-eight (38) North Carolina products and messages. Last year’s gift boxes included premier North Carolina goodies and special messages from Governor Bev Perdue, Senator Kay Hagan, Senator Richard Burr and “The King”, Richard Petty. SOUTHPORT – Learn the history of the lighthouses, river pilots and the waters of the Lower Cape Fear in the annual “Fall Into History” event on Saturday, Sept. 15, at the North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport.
