Only for a Limited Time Aug. 2-Sept. 13 WINNABOW, NC July 17, 2014 – A cannon ball, window glass and gold dust from the wreck of Blackbeard’s flagship, Queen Anne’s Revenge (QAR), will be on exhibit at Brunswick Town/Fort Anderson State Historic Site from Aug. 2 to Sept. 13. A ribbon cutting will open the exhibit and will feature a talk about artifacts recovered from the shipwreck by QAR Project Director Billy Ray Morris. There will be artifacts shown that represent weaponry, nautical tools and personal items. The Saturday opening also will offer and great family fun. Children can enjoy pirate-y games and crafts. Listen to tales of infamous seafarers, such as Blackbeard, Calico Jack and Anne Bonney, and make a seaworthy craft during the program Pirates, Ahoy! at the N.C. This free festival takes place on Saturday, Aug. 2, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the N.C. Museum of History in Raleigh. GREENSBORO, NC July 16, 2014 – The University of North Carolina at Greensboro’s 32nd Annual Summer Music Camp program at UNCG is hosting a record crowd of young musicians, retaining the title of largest university music camp in the nation. Enrollment for 2014 is the largest in the history of the UNCG Summer Music Camp, with approximately 1,830 students in attendance. Since the camp began in 1983, some 54,000 student musicians have attended. “We have had a record demand for enrollment this year and it seems to grow every year,” said Dr. John R. Fulfilling a Recreational Request (NC Coastal Fishing Outing) of NC’s Wounded Warriors and Disabled Veterans   WINSTON-SALEM, NC July 16 - Operation North State (ONS), its supporters and volunteers are calling on North Carolina’s People, Places, Products and Pride to help support the 1st Annual Peer Fishin’ Festival. The event will be held Friday, October 17 at Ocean Crest Pier on Oak Island. ONS is hosting  300 Wounded Warriors, Disabled Veterans and their respective caregivers and/or friends to a great day of pier fishing and friendships.
