Durham Bulls extend affiliation with Tampa Bay Rays

Bulls, Rays to Continue Player Development Relationship Through 2018 DURHAM, NC Sept. 1, 2014 – During today’s regular season finale at the DBAP, the Durham Bulls announced the extension of their Player Development Contract with the Tampa Bay Rays, which will lengthen the Bulls’ affiliation with the Rays through the end of the 2018 season. The four-year contract comes on the heels of a four-year deal signed in August, 2009, that went in to effect after the 2010 season. In the last four years of the affiliation, the Bulls have captured three International League South Division titles and the 2013 Governors’ Cup Championship. The Rays have been Durham’s only affiliate since the team jumped to the Triple-A classification in 1998. […]

Lose to the Atlanta Silverbacks 2-0 CARY, NC August 30, 2014 – The Carolina RailHawks (3W-0T-6L, 9pts) fell to the Atlanta Silverbacks (3W-2T-3L, 11pts) 2-0 on Saturday night at WakeMed Soccer Park. This was the Silverbacks’ first ever victory against the RailHawks in the Triangle. RALEIGH, NC August 29, 2014 – The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission has set season dates, bag limits and applicable regulations for the 2014-15 waterfowl and extended falconry seasons. Beginning Sept. 1, hunters can apply for permit waterfowl hunts online, by visiting a wildlife service agent or by calling 888-248-6834, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Application deadline for the majority of waterfowl permit hunts is Oct. 1. Information on all late-season waterfowl permit hunting opportunities, including locations, dates and quotas, will be available on the agency’s website Sept. 1. WEST END, NC August 27, 2014 – The Tarheel Youth Golf Association (TYGA), a division of the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA), is proud to announce the expansion of its junior golf tournament program.  TYGA has created a new series of one day events for junior girls and boys between the ages of 6 and 11 years of age called the TYGA Tots. These events will be conducted across NC and will consist of 9-hole tournaments played under a modified Stableford scoring system.
