Carolina Hurricanes agree to terms with Brett Bellemore

Defenseman played 64 games with Carolina in 2013-14 RALEIGH, NC July 25, 2014 – Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Brett Bellemore on a one-year, two way contract. The deal will pay Bellemore $600,000 on the NHL level, or $175,000 at the American Hockey League (AHL) level, in 2014-15. MOREHEAD CITY, NC July 25, 2014 – Former Morehead City Marlins’ infielder Chris Taylor took care of two career milestones in one day on Thursday. The 23-year-old Taylor made his Major League debut for the Seattle Mariners in the first game of their series against the Baltimore Orioles, and also recorded his first major league hit, going 1-for-3 in the ballgame. He becomes the first Morehead City Marlin to make it to the Major Leagues. GREENSBORO, NC July 22, 2014 – Obtaining a bachelor’s degree in nursing just became easier and faster for military veterans who have hands-on medical experience. The School of Nursing at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro today announced the launch of an accelerated nursing degree program that provides course credit for military experience. The new program, the UNCG Veterans Access Program (VAP), will start January 2015 with a cohort of approximately 24 veterans.
