UNCG’s Summer Music Camp celebrates 32nd Season with Record Enrollment

GREENSBORO, NC July 16, 2014 – The University of North Carolina at Greensboro’s 32nd Annual Summer Music Camp program at UNCG is hosting a record crowd of young musicians, retaining the title of largest university music camp in the nation. Enrollment for 2014 is the largest in the history of the UNCG Summer Music Camp, with approximately 1,830 students in attendance. Since the camp began in 1983, some 54,000 student musicians have attended. “We have had a record demand for enrollment this year and it seems to grow every year,” said Dr. John R. Country Club of Whispering Pines Final Results WHISPERING PINES, NC July 15, 2014 – Roshnee Sharma of Waxhaw, NC fired a final round 71 to win the 8th Carolinas Junior Girls’ 15 and Under Championship hosted by the Country Club of Whispering Pines in Whispering Pines, NC. Sharma used three birdies in her final round to hold off a back nine charge from her fellow competitor, Elizabeth Nguyen, from Pinehurst, NC. ASHEBORO, NC July 14, 2014 Asheboro City Golf Course   Stroke Play Results Fulton Smith of Pinehurst, NC claimed the medalist award in the 18th NC Junior Boys’ 13 and Under Championship with a round of three under par 67 on the Donald Ross designed Asheboro City Golf Course.  Smith got off to a slow start with a double bogey on his fifth hole and made the turn in even par 35.  On the back side, Smith made three birdies, six pars and no bogeys to finish with his 67.  Grayson Wotnosky of Wake Forest, NC finished five shot back with a 72.  Defending Champion Akshay Bhatia of Wake Forest joined the top 15 from the qualifier in the championship […]

Greensboro, N.C. – The Greensboro Grasshoppers are pleased to announce that Domingo German has been selected to represent the Miami Marlins and the Greensboro Grasshoppers in the 2014 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game. German will travel to Target Field in Minneapolis to participate in the July 13th game.
