WILMINGTON, NC – The Battleship NORTH CAROLINA announces their 5th annual Easter Egg Hunt Carnival on Friday, April 6, 2012, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm, with the last ticket sold at 1:00 pm. Hippity Hoppity down the Battleship trail for a fun Spring event with continuous games and egg hunts every 20 minutes.  New this year will be two bounce houses and a professional face painter.  A petting zoo will also be on hand with the cutest little chicks around.  All this is included for only $5 per person, with kids 2 and under free.  Don’t forget to bring your camera and take pictures with Buddy the Battleship Bunny. Pirates Finish Sixth At Callaway Match Play Championships

Callaway Collegiate Match Play Championships BRADENTON, Fla. March 20, 2012 – The East Carolina men’s golf team wrapped a successful week at the Callaway Match Play Championships with a sixth-place finish Tuesday after falling to No. 6 seed Indiana, 3.5-1.5, at the Concession Golf Club. Harold Varner picked up ECU’s only win on the day, defeating Chase Wright, 1-up. The two were all square through 16 holes when Varner birdied No. 3 to go ahead. Each individual then pared the final hole to complete the match. Varner finished 2-1-1 on the week. Adam Stephenson halved with the Hoosiers’ David Mills to give ECU half a point. FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Fayetteville SwampDogs are pleased to welcome Tyler Olsson into the fold for the 2012 season as the team’s Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations. Olsson will graduate in May from The College of New Jersey in Ewing, NJ, with degrees in both journalism and radio/TV/film communications. He spent last season as a broadcaster for the Camden Riversharks of the Atlantic League, and has called TCNJ baseball games on the school’s radio station since his freshman year. With Camden, Olsson had an opportunity to call both play-by-play and color commentary while also maintaining the Atlantic League rosters and writing game recaps. March 18, 2012 – East Carolina’s men’s golf team split a pair of matches on Sunday during the first day of action at the Callaway Collegiate Match Play Championship at The Concession Golf Club. Collegiate Match Play Championships The ninth-seeded Pirates defeated Iowa in the margin of victory tiebreaker six holes to five during the first round of play before falling to top-seeded Arkansas during the afternoon round, 4-1.
