RALEIGH — March is a great time to fly a kite, and a state historic site or museum is a great place for that.  Saturday, March 17, from 1-4 p.m., is “Let’s Go Fly A Kite Day,” at eight state historic sites and three state museums within the N.C. Department of Cultural Resources.  Just gather the kite and the kids, and plan on an afternoon of free family fun. By Tyler Johnson Lifestyles Editor A teenager receives a text from a friend and opens it without hesitation knowing it is not a message containing explicit content. Teen sexting has become far less common than what people think, according to Kimberly Mitchell, a research assistant psychology professor at the University of New Hampshire. The research, focused on teenagers, found that the texting of sexual photos among youngsters was rare. “I think today’s young kids have been raised by parents to know about sexting and to stay away from it,” one anonymous source said. Wilmington, N.C. – University of North Carolina Wilmington students have teamed up with the non-profit group Cell Phones for Soldiers Inc. to help U.S. troops call home. With ongoing deployments to combat areas and other posts worldwide, as many as 369,000 troops are serving in the U.S. military overseas. By donating gently-used cellular phones to Cell Phones for Soldiers, Wilmington area residents can provide a precious connection to loved ones back home.   Community members can donate phones to the cause on the UNCW campus March 26-31. Mountain Hawks earn first win over Tar Heels since 1951.   CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Lehigh outscored North Carolina 5-0 over a span of 25:11 from the second through fourth quarters and went on to beat the fourth-ranked Tar Heels 9-8 at Fetzer Field Saturday night. The loss was the first for the Tar Heels against an unranked team at Fetzer Field since March 5, 2004 when Navy downed Carolina 9-8 in overtime.   The Mountain Hawks improved to 4-1 on the season as they recorded their first win over Carolina since April 4, 1951 when Lehigh defeated the Tar Heels 6-3 in Chapel Hill.
