WILMINGTON, NC August 22, 2014 – Wilmington Hammerheads FC are pleased to announce the recent signing of Mark-Anthony Kaye for the remainder of the USL PRO regular season. WILMINGTON, NC August 22, 2014 – Wilmington Hammerheads FC is scheduled for back-to-back matches against Orange County Blues FC on Saturday, August 23 at 10:00 p.m. ET at Anteater Stadium and LA Galaxy II on Sunday, August 24 at 3:00 p.m. ET at StubHub Center. The Hammerheads enter the weekend matchups following a 2-0 defeat against Sacramento Republic FC on Wednesday night at Bonney Field. David Irving Steps Down as Head Coach of Wilmington Hammerheads FC

WILMINGTON, NC August 21, 2014 – Wilmington Hammerheads FC announced today that, by mutual agreement, David Irving is leaving his role as head coach and will no longer be involved in the day to day operation with the team. “David has been an integral figure in the soccer community in Wilmington for many years and had many successes,” said Wilmington Hammerheads FC General Manager Jason Arnold. “He has contributed so much to the Hammerheads and the city of Wilmington, and for that we are very grateful. Cape Fear Museum Offers New Education Programming

WILMINGTON, NC August 20, 2014 – Cape Fear Museum is expanding its education programming to offer more in-depth experiences for its visitors. Beginning in September, the Museum will host Family Science Saturday. These workshops are hands-on experiences that encourage families to experiment, discover, and explore together.  Each month features activities – including a take home project – focused on a different history and/or science topic. The 45-minute program is offered three times on the second Saturday of each month at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and 12 p.m. in Williston Auditorium. Coastal Federation along with Wrightsville Beach Scenic Tours Inc. will sponsor two boat trips with the federation’s Coastal Advocate Mike Giles and Capt. Joe Abbate to explore Rich Inlet and the Lea Island complex of shoals and sandbars north of Figure Eight Island. The first trip is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 29 and the other for Friday, Sept. 26.
