CLEMSON, SC Oct. 19, 2014 —Former Clemson All-American Ben Martin sank a 46-foot eagle putt on the par five 16th hole on Sunday and went on to win the Shriner’s Hospital For Children Open at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was the first PGA Tour win for Martin, who is in his third year on the PGA Tour.  Martin is the ninth winner of the tournament to make a victory in Las Vegas his first  career triumph.  That list includes Tiger Woods, who made his first PGA victory at this event in 1996. The Cougars (5-11-1, 1-6-1 CAA) were unable to complete the unenviable task of solving the nation’s best defense, as NU goalkeeper Paige Burnett and company posted the Huskies’ 13th shutout of the season. CLEMSON, SC Oct. 18, 2014 – The 21st-ranked Clemson women’s soccer team defeated Miami by a score of 2-0 on Saturday night at Historic Riggs Field. The Tigers improved to 11-2-2 overall and 4-2-1 in ACC play with the win, while the Hurricanes dropped to 2-12-1 (0-6-1 ACC). With the victory, Clemson now has 11 wins on the season. It is the first 11-win season for the program since 2006. That Tiger team advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals, and was ranked in a tie for 14th in the final national poll. The Tigers improved to 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the ACC in the first-ever meeting between the two. With freshman quarterback Deshaun Watson forced to leave the game early due to a broken finger, senior quarterback Cole Stoudt stepped in and went 20-33 passing for 162 yards.
