Former LSU Closer Sent to High-A Tampa CHARLESTON, SC – The New York Yankees have announced that relief pitcher Nick Goody has been promoted from the Charleston RiverDogs to the High-A Tampa Yankees. Simultaneously, right-handed pitcher Cesar Vargas has been promoted to Charleston from the Gulf Coast League and will take Goody’s spot on the roster. A native of Orlando, Fla., Goody joined the RiverDogs in June after a brief stint with the Staten Island Yankees. In 17 games with Charleston, he posted a 1-2 record with a 1.09 ERA and six saves.
