College Alumni Return to Teach Summer Course in Public Health   CHARLESTON, NC July 14, 2014 – The College of Charleston welcomed back two alumni on July 10, 2014 to teach a Summer II course titled Global Perspectives on Poverty, Inequality and Vulnerability. Honors College alumni Melissa Siegel ’03 and Stephanie Wheeler ’03 are co-teaching the class. Caleb Smith takes first win since May 27 as Charleston wins rubber game SAVANNAH, GA July 13, 2014 – Caleb Smith, Chad Taylor, Philip Walby, and Eric Ruth combined to pitch a four-hitter for the Charleston RiverDogs in a 5-0 shutout victory against the Savannah Sand Gnats on Sunday afternoon at Historic Grayson Stadium in South Atlantic League action. Buford (San Antonio, Texas) parred her first playoff hole to earn a spot in the U.S. Women’s Amateur to be held on Aug. 4-10 at Nassau Country Club in Glen Cove, N.Y. After shooting a 3-over par 73 in the qualifier held at Pinehurst Country Club in Denver, Colo., Buford won a playoff for the fourth and final spot to the U.S. Women’s Amateur over Tori Glen of the University of Colorado. Contest will be made up in August as this series continues with single games on Saturday, Sunday SAVANNAH, GA July 11, 2014 – Following heavy rains in the afternoon at Historic Grayson Stadium, Friday’s scheduled game between the Charleston RiverDogs and the Savannah Sand Gnats has been postponed due to unplayable field conditions. The contest will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Monday, August 4 that will start at 5:35pm at Historic Grayson Stadium. Each game of that doubleheader will be scheduled for seven innings.
