Ben Martin Wins in Las Vegas

CLEMSON, SC Oct. 19, 2014 —Former Clemson All-American Ben Martin sank a 46-foot eagle putt on the par five 16th hole on Sunday and went on to win the Shriner’s Hospital For Children Open at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was the first PGA Tour win for Martin, who is in his third year on the PGA Tour.  Martin is the ninth winner of the tournament to make a victory in Las Vegas his first  career triumph.  That list includes Tiger Woods, who made his first PGA victory at this event in 1996. Clemson Tigers Defeat Miami 2-0 in Pink Game Saturday at Historic Riggs Field

CLEMSON, SC Oct. 18, 2014 – The 21st-ranked Clemson women’s soccer team defeated Miami by a score of 2-0 on Saturday night at Historic Riggs Field. The Tigers improved to 11-2-2 overall and 4-2-1 in ACC play with the win, while the Hurricanes dropped to 2-12-1 (0-6-1 ACC). With the victory, Clemson now has 11 wins on the season. It is the first 11-win season for the program since 2006. That Tiger team advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals, and was ranked in a tie for 14th in the final national poll. CLEMSON, SC Oct. 11, 2014 – The No. 25 Clemson Tigers pulled out a 23-17 victory over Louisville with their backs against the wall, holding the Cardinals on a last-minute, goal-line stand to preserve a hard-fought victory. The Tigers improved to 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the ACC in the first-ever meeting between the two. With freshman quarterback Deshaun Watson forced to leave the game early due to a broken finger, senior quarterback Cole Stoudt stepped in and went 20-33 passing for 162 yards. CLEMSON, SC Oct. 7, 2014 – The Clemson men’s soccer team could not overcome an early score from No. 7 Charlotte Tuesday night at Historic Riggs Field, falling 1-0 to the 49ers. Clemson’s record now stands at 5-6-0 overall and 2-2-0 in ACC play on the season. Charlotte’s goal came off the right foot of Dominic Bonilla in the seventh minute, his fourth of the season. Clemson had several good chances in the final minutes of the second half when they were awarded three consecutive corner kicks. Junior T.J. CLEMSON, SC Sept. 26, 2014 – The Clemson men’s soccer team defeated Wake Forest 3-1 in front of 3,084 fans, including members of the 1984 National Championship team and their families, at Historic Riggs Field on Friday night. With the win, the Tigers improve to 5-4-0 and 2-1-0 in the ACC, while Wake falls to 4-4-0 and 1-2-0 in the conference.
