Everyone Wins in Innersole Celebrity Softball Game

COLUMBIA, SC July 19, 2014 – In the First Annual Innersole Celebrity Softball Fun-Raiser, South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley and her charity hosted an entertaining event for both players and fans at Carolina Softball Stadium Saturday night. Staley’s team picked up the 11-5 win in regulation, but South Carolina Athletics Director Ray Tanner’s squad rallied for eight runs in the “extra” eighth inning for a 13-12 final. After a week of boasting about the athletes on his team, Tanner saw Staley’s team establish its offense early against pitcher Brian Buscher. South Carolina Gamecock Men’s Golf Releases 2014-15 Schedule

2014-15 Schedule COLUMBIA, SC July 18, 2014 — The South Carolina men’s golf program released its schedule for the 2014-15 season on Friday. The Gamecocks are slated to compete in four tournaments in the fall and five in the spring heading into postseason play. South Carolina will look to keep momentum going from the 2013-14 season, one of the most successful in program history. The Gamecocks won three tournaments, matched the school record with nine top-five finishes and placed ninth at the NCAA Championship, the program’s second highest finish at the event in school history. KOCH TO PLAY IN NECBL ALL-STAR GAME COLUMBIA, SC July 14, 2014 – South Carolina catcher Logan Koch will play in the 2014 New England League (NECBL) All-Star game as announced by the league on Sunday.  Koch, a member of the Plymouth Pilgrims, will be a starter for the South Division.  The game will be held Sunday, July 20 at MacKenzie Stadium, home of the Valley Blue Sox in Holyoke Massachusetts. Koch is hitting .286 (16-for-56) for the Pilgrims with five RBI and three runs scored.  He owns a .467 on-base percentage and has walked 18 times on the year. GREENVILLE, SC July 13, 2014 — South Carolina junior Will Starke fired a final-round 68 (-4) on Sunday at Greenville Country Club to finish tied for fifth at the 100th Carolinas Amateur Championship. Starke wrapped up the event with a 72-hole total of 286 (-2) to finish three strokes back of first place. A native of Chapin, S.C., Starke carded rounds of 74, 70 and 74 in the first three rounds before making a move into the top 10 with his 68 on Sunday.
