UNCW’s men’s 4×800 Relays claimed first at the Shamrock Invite for the fourth time in five seasons on Friday. MYRTLE BEACH, SC March 21, 2014 – UNCW 4×800 men’s relay posted its fourth win in five seasons at the Shamrock Invitational hosted by Coastal Carolina on Friday at Doug Shaw Stadium. The relay of Connor Brooks, Tommy Schotzinger, Bryan Brackney and Dylan Skinner combined to win the race with a time of 7:43.29. MYRTLE BEACH, SC Mar. 11, 2014 – Senior Payne McLeod posted his first top-5 finish since the fall and second of the 2013-14 season for UNCW as the Seahawks finished 11th at the General Hackler Championship at TPC of Myrtle Beach on Tuesday. McLeod opened the day tied for second, but struggled with five bogeys in the third and final round of the tournament. Meet Schedule WILMINGTON, NC Mar. 1, 2014 – With the indoor season in the rearview mirror, UNCW opens its outdoor season on Sunday when it competes in the ninth-annual Battle of the Beaches against rival Coastal Carolina in Conway, S.C. The Seahawks will also compete against South Carolina State in a separately scored meet. Senior Aerial Chatman will open his final season with the Seahawks by competing in the Long and Triple Jumps. Chatman competed in the NCAA first round last spring in the Triple Jump and won the Colonial Athletic Association title in the event.
