Caleb Sturgeon Finishes Tied for Third at SCGA Amateur Championship

Gamecock senior turned in 54-hole total of 210 (-5) PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC August 3, 2014 — South Carolina senior Caleb Sturgeon finished tied for third at the 83rd South Carolina Golf Association Amateur Championship on Sunday at The Reserve Golf Club. The final round of the championship was canceled due to unplayable course conditions. A native of Laurens, S.C., Sturgeon finished the weekend with a 54-hole total of 210 (-5) after shooting rounds of 71, 70 and 69 on the first three days. NWS Issues Winter Storm Watch for southeastern NC

WILMINGTON NC January 26, 2014 – The National Weather Service Sunday issued a winter storm watch for southeast North Carolina and northeast South Carolina. It will be in effect Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon. According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, another Arctic front is set move into the region late Monday, bringing very cold temperatures and the potential for winter weather. This front will stall offshore Tuesday and Wednesday. A low pressure system will develop along this front and move along the coast, bringing an extended period of snow and sleet to the area. Sept. 13, 2011 – The East Carolina University men’s golf team carded a three-under 285 in the third and final round to finish fifth as a team at the Golfweek Program Challenge at the 6,640-yard, par 72 True Blue Golf Resort.
