Free Event Gives Fans Opportunity to Meet Rays Outfielder Jerry Sands, Take Batting Practice on Field DURHAM, NC Oct. 8, 2014 – The Durham Bulls will host their annual Fall Fan Fest on Saturday, October 18.  The free event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.  Tampa Bay Rays outfielder and Smithfield, NC native Jerry Sands will be on hand to sign autographs and fans will be able to take batting practice and play catch on the field. Durham Bulls extend affiliation with Tampa Bay Rays

Bulls, Rays to Continue Player Development Relationship Through 2018 DURHAM, NC Sept. 1, 2014 – During today’s regular season finale at the DBAP, the Durham Bulls announced the extension of their Player Development Contract with the Tampa Bay Rays, which will lengthen the Bulls’ affiliation with the Rays through the end of the 2018 season. The four-year contract comes on the heels of a four-year deal signed in August, 2009, that went in to effect after the 2010 season. In the last four years of the affiliation, the Bulls have captured three International League South Division titles and the 2013 Governors’ Cup Championship. The Rays have been Durham’s only affiliate since the team jumped to the Triple-A classification in 1998. […]

The Pelicans, tied with the Potomac Nationals, had the most players named to the team, as catcher Jorge Alfaro and outfielders Chris Garia and Nick Williams also made the All-Star roster.
