South Carolina Gamecock Men’s Basketball Visits Palmetto Children’s Hospital

COLUMBIA, SC July 25, 2014 – Members of the South Carolina men’s basketball team spent time visiting the Palmetto Children’s Hospital on Friday afternoon, signing autographs and playing with kids. The community outreach is part of the “8K In 8 Days” campaign for Gamecock men’s basketball. Sophomore guards Justin McKie and Duane Notice, and freshman forward TeMarcus Blanton attended the hour-long event. Playing several games with children and even stopping by a few rooms at the hospital to bring Happy Birthday wishes. COLUMBIA, SC July 19, 2014 – In the First Annual Innersole Celebrity Softball Fun-Raiser, South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley and her charity hosted an entertaining event for both players and fans at Carolina Softball Stadium Saturday night. Staley’s team picked up the 11-5 win in regulation, but South Carolina Athletics Director Ray Tanner’s squad rallied for eight runs in the “extra” eighth inning for a 13-12 final.
