Gamecocks Football: Lattimore Scholarship Established

GREENVILLE, SC June 26, 2014 – The University of South Carolina Athletics Department has announced the receipt of a gift presented to the Garnet Way Campaign, establishing an endowed football scholarship honoring former Gamecock running back Marcus Lattimore. The endowment will provide a scholarship each year, given by the David Glenn Family from Greenville, S.C., and will be awarded each year to a deserving football walk-on student-athlete. Clemson’s Death Valley Ranked as Top ACC Stadium

CLEMSON, SC June 18, 2014 – Clemson Memorial Stadium has been ranked as the number-one college football stadium in the ACC by Athlon Sports.  The publication solicited a ranking from 12 beat media members from ACC schools and Clemson received nine of the 12 first-place votes to win the poll by a large margin. Earlier this summer, the same publication announced its rating of the top 25 college football stadiums in the nation and Clemson placed number-seven nationally. A.J. Cann Named to First-Team Unit COLUMBIA, SC June 11, 2014 – Six University of South Carolina football players have earned spots on Athlon’s preseason All-SEC teams, it was announced today. Senior offensive guard A.J. Cann was the lone Gamecock to garner a spot on Athlon’s first-team unit. Cann, a 6-4, 311-pounder from Bamberg, S.C., owns a team-high 38 starts over the past three seasons and served as a team captain in 2013. Mike Davis, a 5-9, 223-pound junior running back from Atlanta, and Skai Moore, a 6-2, 213-pound sophomore linebacker from Cooper City, Fla., were named to Athlon’s second-team All-SEC squad.
