GREENSBORO, NC Sept. 26, 2014 – Final round results of the 53rd Carolinas Senior Amateur Championship hosted by Sedgefield Country Club (Dye Course) in Greensboro, N.C. on Friday, September 26, 2014 (6350 yards, par 35-36—71, 71.7,136). Playing in the next to last group of the day, Jim Grainger, 58, of Charlotte, N.C. fired a tournament-low round of five-under 66 to win the 53rd Carolinas Senior Amateur by one stroke. Tournament format is 18 holes of four-ball stroke play, both gross and net.  90 percent of a player’s course handicap is used to determine net scores. TYGA announces the TYGA Tots Tournament Program

WEST END, NC August 27, 2014 – The Tarheel Youth Golf Association (TYGA), a division of the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA), is proud to announce the expansion of its junior golf tournament program.  TYGA has created a new series of one day events for junior girls and boys between the ages of 6 and 11 years of age called the TYGA Tots. These events will be conducted across NC and will consist of 9-hole tournaments played under a modified Stableford scoring system. Oliver Schniederjans wins Mark H McCormack Medal as leading amateur

ST ANDREWS, SCOTLAND August 28, 2014 – Oliver Schniederjans has won the Mark H McCormack Medal as the number one-ranked player in the 2014 World Amateur Golf RankingTM. The 21-year-old from Powder Springs, Georgia has enjoyed an excellent season, amassing five wins in his third year in college golf. The Georgia Tech student also finished second in the NCAA Championship and NCAA Raleigh Regional. Schniederjans reached the third round of last week’s U.S. Amateur Championship at Atlanta Athletic Club and was selected for the American Palmer Cup team which faced Europe at Walton Heath in June. More Than 330 Team Entries Accepted for Inaugural U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship

FAR HILLS, NJ August 21, 2014 – The United States Golf Association has accepted entries for 336 teams (or two-player sides) for the 2015 U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship, to be contested May 9-13 on the Pacific Dunes Course at Bandon Dunes in Bandon, Ore. Entries for the U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball are open to players who have a Handicap Index® not exceeding 14.4, with no age restrictions.
