Jordan Staal placed on injured reserve; Carolina’s roster now at 25 players RALEIGH, NC Oct. 2, 2014 – Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has trimmed its training camp roster by 10 players. It also was announced that center Jordan Staal has been placed on injured reserve. With the moves, just 25 players remain in the team’s training camp heading into its final two exhibition games, Friday at PNC Arena against Buffalo and Sunday at Washington. Larose added to training camp roster, which now stands at 36 players RALEIGH, NC Sept. 27, 2014 – Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team will reassign nine players from its training camp roster to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League. Francis also announced that the team has added forward Chad LaRose to the training camp roster on a professional tryout. Center suffered a fractured fibula during Tuesday’s game in Buffalo RALEIGH, NC Sept. 25, 2014 – Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced center Jordan Staal will undergo surgery on Friday to repair a fractured fibula in his right leg. The procedure will be performed by Dr. Kevin Logel and Dr. Marty Isbell at Raleigh Orthopaedic and recovery time is estimated at three to four months.
