Marine debris is a problem that continues to grow.  Our waterways and oceans are constantly polluted with a wide variety of marine debris ranging from polystyrene trays and plastic bags to derelict fishing equipment and abandoned boats. Marine life, such as several Fish species, Whales, Sharks, Sea Turtles, and Birds have been known to ingest marine debris or become entangled in marine debris, which may lead to injury, intestinal blockage, and death.  Marine debris is an Eastern North Carolina concern not only because of the threats to our native wildlife, our ecosystem and our own health, but it also washes up on beaches and shorelines degrading the environment, and effecting our local economy and tourism. Agreement Reached in Red Wolf Lawsuit Against Wildlife Commission

RALEIGH, NC Nov. 14, 2014 — An agreement has been reached in a lawsuit against the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission, which will restore conditional coyote hunting in the five-county red wolf reintroduction area of eastern North Carolina. The agreement will restore daytime coyote hunting on private lands in Dare, Hyde, Beaufort, Tyrrell and Washington counties by licensed or otherwise authorized hunters, with a special permit obtained from the Wildlife Commission and subsequent reporting of kill. In the other 95 counties of the state, coyote hunters may hunt during daytime or at night using artificial lights, and no special permit or reporting of coyote harvests is required. Charlotte Hornets Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Injury Update

MKG has Stress Reaction in His Right Foot CHARLOTTE, NC Nov. 14, 2014 – Charlotte Hornets forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has been diagnosed with a stress reaction in his right foot. Kidd-Gilchrist, who underwent a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) yesterday, will miss the remaining two games on the team’s road trip. He will be re-evaluated in Charlotte and a recovery timeline will be determined at that time. In six games this season, Kidd-Gilchrist is averaging 9.8 points on .625 shooting from the field, 5.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 23.3 minutes per game.
