Wahine Classic kicks off week of surf contests, camps WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC July 15, 2014 – On the shores of the nationally ranked surf town in some of the country’s cleanest ocean waters, more than 100 female surfers from New York to Florida will compete in shortboard, longboard and standup paddleboard heats during the Wahine Classic in Wrightsville Beach, Friday through Sunday, Aug. 15-17.   The quintessential surf town made National Geographic’s short list of America’s Last Best Beach Towns in its June/July 2014 issue. Country Club of Whispering Pines Final Results WHISPERING PINES, NC July 15, 2014 – Roshnee Sharma of Waxhaw, NC fired a final round 71 to win the 8th Carolinas Junior Girls’ 15 and Under Championship hosted by the Country Club of Whispering Pines in Whispering Pines, NC. Sharma used three birdies in her final round to hold off a back nine charge from her fellow competitor, Elizabeth Nguyen, from Pinehurst, NC.
