Carolina Hurricanes agree to terms with Rasmus Rissanen

Defenseman completed third full professional season in 2013-14 RALEIGH, NC July 23, 2014 – Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Rasmus Rissanen on a one-year, two-way contract. The deal will pay Rissanen $575,000 at the NHL level, or $90,000 at the American Hockey League level for the 2014-15 season. CHARLESTON, SC July 23, 2014 – Charleston’s Aug. 3 match at the Montreal Impact Reserves — the Battery’s final regular-season match against a Reserve League team from an MLS club — has been rescheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 28, the clubs announced Wednesday. Montreal Impact management approached the Battery last week about rescheduling the Aug. 3rd fixture, which became a problem for the Canadian team when the schedule for CONCACAF Champions League was announced. THE WOODLANDS, TX July 22, 2014 — South Carolina incoming freshman Keenan Huskey carded a second-round 72 (E) on Tuesday at The Club at Carlton Woods to conclude stroke play at the 67th U.S. Junior Amateur Championship, securing a spot in the round of 64 for match play. Huskey, who shot a 74 (+2) in the first round on Monday, finished stroke play tied for 31st with a 36-hole total of 146 (+2). The cut for match play was set at 5-over par. A native of Greenville, S.C., Huskey will square off against an opponent yet to be determined on Wednesday. The winner will advance to the round of 32 on Thursday.
