Caitlin Hite Garners Preseason All-American Conference Nod

East Carolina picked to finish eighth GREENVILLE, NC August 18, 2014 – East Carolina University sophomore women’s soccer player Caitlin Hite was one of 11 players named to The American’s preseason all-conference team, according to an announcement by the league office Monday afternoon. As a freshman in 2013, Hite became the first player in program history to earn All-Conference USA First Team honors and also received NSCAA All-Central Region Second Team recognition. The Stafford, Va., native started all 21 matches and played every minute in 19 of those contests, which included five double-overtime games. Vernon Hamilton Named Graduate Manager for Tiger Basketball

Hamilton Returns to Alma Mater as Graduate Manager   CLEMSON, SC August 18, 2014 — One of Clemson’s most renowned defensive players is returning to the program as a staff member. Vernon Hamilton has joined the Tigers as a graduate manager, the school announced today. Hamilton is Clemson’s career and single-season steals leader and played for the Tigers from 2003-07. Following his collegiate career, Hamilton played professionally overseas and domestically. He took part in NBA training camps with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2008 and Detroit Pistons in 2010. He played for four different NBA Development League teams, winning a championship with the Colorado 14ers in 2009. Hamilton also played for the Austin Toros, Erie BayHawks and Fort Wayne Mad Ants. DURHAM, NC August 18, 2014 – Final results from U.S. Senior Amateur Championship sectional qualifying hosted by Duke University Golf Club in Durham, NC on Monday, August 18, 2014 (6585 yards, par 36-36—72, Rating: 71.8/134). Four qualifying spots and two alternate positions were available at this qualifying site. CLEMSON, SC August 18, 2014 – Sophomore goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan was named to the Preseason All-ACC Women’s Soccer Team as announced by the conference office on Monday. The 11-member preseason all-conference team was selected by a vote of the league’s head coaches. Sheridan, a native of Whitby, Ontario, was a member of the All-ACC Third Team and the ACC All-Freshman Team in 2013. She started all 19 games in goal for the Tigers during her rookie season, posting 66 saves and allowing just 18 goals. WALLACE, NC August 17, 2014 – The eight-golfer Carolinas team won five of eight closing day singles matches and halved another to post a two-point victory (9-7) against their Virginias counterparts to claim the 32nd Virginias-Carolinas Junior Matches, which concluded today at River Landing Golf Club. One point was available per each match.
