Carolina Moves Up Two Notches in National Rankings Columbia, SC Nov. 25, 2012 – The University of South Carolina football team, fresh off a 27-17 win over in-state rival Clemson, moved up two notches in both national polls released Sunday afternoon. The Gamecocks (10-2, 6-2 SEC) are ranked 11th in this week’s Associated Press poll, and 10th in this week’s USA Today/ESPN Coaches’ poll. The Gamecocks were 13th and 12th in the two polls, respectively, last week. Carolina has posted double-digits in wins for the second-straight season and for just the third time in school history. Aleighsa Welch was just one point shy of her third double-double in as many games at the event, and Ashley Bruner posted her second 12-rebound game of the tournament. The Gamecock defense was equally as effective, holding the Blue Demons to 29.7 percent shooting, including just four 3-pointers.
