PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico – The South Carolina men’s basketball team (5-1) claimed the 2012 Hoops For Hope Classic Championship on Sunday night in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, with a 74-62 victory over Arkansas-Little Rock (4-3). Senior forward Lakeem Jackson collected his second double-double of the season with 10 points and a career-high 15 rebounds. Jackson was named to the all-tournament team and senior guard LaShay Page was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player. CINCINNATI, Ohio –  Down by 13 at halftime, the College of Charleston women’s basketball team fought back and narrowed the gap to one point, but couldn’t take the lead as they fell 66-57 against Cincinnati Sunday at Fifth Third Arena. Senior Latisha Harris led the Cougars (2-3) with 13 points and junior Alyssa Frye added 11 points. Junior Jillian Brown played a complete game with six points, seven assists and four steals. Carolina Moves Up Two Notches in National Rankings Columbia, SC Nov. 25, 2012 – The University of South Carolina football team, fresh off a 27-17 win over in-state rival Clemson, moved up two notches in both national polls released Sunday afternoon. The Gamecocks (10-2, 6-2 SEC) are ranked 11th in this week’s Associated Press poll, and 10th in this week’s USA Today/ESPN Coaches’ poll.
