Cougar Women’s Golf Finishes Eighth at Palmetto Intercollegiate

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Senior Vanessa Koechli finished tied for fifth-place to lead the College of Charleston women’s golf team to an eighth-place finish at the Palmetto Intercollegiate at Oak Point golf course on Monday. The Cougars shot an 11-over 299 to close the tournament with rounds of 309-298-299=906 (+42). Campbell (+2) was the team champion as they earned a 21-shot victory over runner-up East Tennessee State. Coastal Carolina (+27) finished in third-place. Koechli played three consistent rounds and carded scores of 73 and 75 before finishing with a 1-under 71. Cougar Women’s Golf 10th after Day One of Palmetto Intercollegiate

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The College of Charleston women’s golf team completed the first two rounds of the Palmetto Intercollegiate Sunday, but the entire field did not, as play was called due to darkness before everyone could finish. Currently the Cougars are in 10th place with most of the field having one hole left to play. The Cougars (+31) shot a 21-over 309 and were tied for 12th place after the first round. In round two the team shot a 10-over 298. Campbell is the current tournament leader with a combined 1-over.
