Cougars Among 2013 DIRECTV Classic Field

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men’s basketball team is one of seven teams locked in to the eight-team field for the 2013 DIRECTV Classic to be held over the Thanksgiving holiday on Nov. 28, 29 & Dec. 1, 2013, in Anaheim, Calif. The Cougars are joined in the seventh annual tournament field by Arizona State (Pac-12), Creighton (Missouri Valley), George Washington (Atlantic 10), Marquette (BIG EAST), Miami (ACC) and San Diego State (Mountain West). The eighth team will be announced at a later date. The 2013 DIRECTV Classic will feature a bracket format with 12 games over three days. CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston women’s golf coach, Jamie Futrell, announced the signing of two players to National Letters of Intent. They are Laura Funfstuck from Langen, Germany and Victoria Drechsler from Olching, Germany.   “The addition of Laura and Vici along with a strong recruiting class from this past year should make us a very formidable team over the next few years,” Futrell said.   Funfstuck was recently named to the German National Ladies Team and is currently the 15th ranked amateur women’s golfer in Germany.   “I am very pleased to have Laura coming to the College of Charleston,” Futrell said. “She currently is a plus 3 handicap and should be a major impact player for us […]
