CBS To Televise Gamecocks’ Final SEC Regular Season Game of 2012 Columbia, SC Oct. 29, 2012 – The South Carolina – Arkansas football game, scheduled for Saturday, November 10, will kick at noon, the Southeastern Conference office announced today. The Gamecocks’ final regular season SEC contest will be televised nationally on CBS with Tim Brando providing the play-by-play, Steve Beuerlein as the color analyst and Marty Snider working the sidelines. CBS has elected to use a six-day selection for the 3:30 ET window game on November 10. The following games are being held: Texas A&M at Alabama and Miss. State at LSU. KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The College of Charleston women’s golf team completed the first two rounds of the Palmetto Intercollegiate Sunday, but the entire field did not, as play was called due to darkness before everyone could finish. Currently the Cougars are in 10th place with most of the field having one hole left to play. The Cougars (+31) shot a 21-over 309 and were tied for 12th place after the first round. In round two the team shot a 10-over 298. Campbell is the current tournament leader with a combined 1-over. Oct. 28, 2012 – Junior Nicole Willis set a new ECU single-game record with 32 kills in East Carolina’s 3-2 (25-20, 25-23, 20-25, 21-25, 11-15) loss at Southern Miss on Sunday. Willis bested the previous record by one which was set in 2007 by former Pirate Kelly Wernert in a match against UNC Wilmington. Carolina Ranked 11th in Both Major Polls Columbia, SC Oct. 28, 2012 – The University of South Carolina football team moved up several notches in both major polls this week, climbing to 11th in both the Associated Press and USA Today/ESPN Coaches’ polls released today. The move represented a rise of six spots in the AP and five spots in the Coaches’ poll. The Gamecocks (7-2, 5-2 SEC) posted a hard-fought 38-35 win over Tennessee on Saturday. The Gamecocks rolled up 510 yards of offense, but had to hold off a late Volunteer rally to secure the win.
