Nov. 17, 2012 – The South Carolina swimming and diving teams wrapped up a stellar week at the Virginia Tech Invitational as both squads finished second after Saturday’s finals at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center. The 21st-ranked Gamecock men finished the week with 1,021.5 points, while the Carolina women had 804 points. The Gamecocks won two championship finals and recorded three more NCAA B cuts on the night. DAVIDSON, N.C. – Four different Cougars reached double digits in kills and the College of Charleston advanced to the semifinals of the Southern Conference Tournament with a 3-1 (25-15, 24-26, 25-20, 25-14) win over Chattanooga on Saturday afternoon at Davidson’s Belk Arena. Charleston (24-7, 14-2) held Chattanooga (14-18, 8-8) to just .086 hitting and the Cougars outdug the Mocs 75-62. Charlotte, NC – Visitors flocked to the Coca-Cola Family Ice Rink, presented by New Life 91.9FM as the 5,100-square-foot outdoor rink opened its doors on Friday. There were pickup hockey games, figure skaters testing the lines and families enjoying quality time at Concord’s newest holiday attraction. For more photos from opening weekend, click here.
