CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston equestrian team furthered its reputation as one of the premiere teams in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association with a dominant, first-place finish when they hosted a Zone 5 Region 3 show at Storybook Farms. The Cougars seized the show’s lead early on and never looked back as they never trailed on the day and rode their way to a 17-point lead over second-place South Carolina. The show completed the fall portion of the Cougars’ schedule which they swept with four first-place finishes in as many shows. Trent Wiedeman Out Indefinitely

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston 6-foot-8 forward Trent Wiedeman (Suwanee, Ga.) will not suit up against Boston College after suffering a sprained right ankle in the Cougars’ 55-51 loss versus Auburn in the 2012 ESPN Charleston Classic on Nov. 16. Wiedeman, who is a preseason All-Southern Conference Team selection, will be re-evaluated later this week by the medical staff. He played and started in all three games of the season averaging a team-leading 11.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. Last year, Wiedeman missed one game of the season due to a sprained ankle versus Western Carolina on Feb. 19, 2012.
